  • 1 ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup warm water

For Boiling:

  • 8 cups water
  • 2 tbsp honey or sugar

For Topping (Optional):

  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything seasoning

🍽️ Instructions:

1️⃣ Make the Dough: In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy. Add flour and salt, then knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rise for 1 hour, until doubled in size.

2️⃣ Shape the Bagels: Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces. Roll each into a ball, then poke a hole in the center and stretch into a bagel shape. Let rest for 15 minutes.

3️⃣ Boil the Bagels: Bring water and honey to a boil. Boil bagels for 30 seconds per side, then remove and place on a baking sheet.

4️⃣ Bake: Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with toppings. Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.
